Sprint legend Usain Bolt said on Monday "August 24" that he is self-quarantining after undergoing a Covid-19 test amid reports that he has tested positive for the deadly virus.
In a video posted on Twitter, the Jamaican athlete said he had not experienced any symptoms, but urged friends he had been in contact with to take precautions.
"This weekend, like everyone else, I checked social media and saw that social media said that I am confirmed from Covid-19," Bolt said.
"I did a test on Saturday to leave (Jamaica) because I have a job," he said, although he did not confirm that he had received the result. "I'm trying to be responsible, so I'll stay inside and be safe.
"In addition, I do not have symptoms, I will quarantine myself and wait for confirmation to see what the protocol is and see how I do to quarantine myself from the Ministry of Health."
"Until then, I'll call my friends and tell them once they contact me to be safe, to quarantine themselves and take it easy."
