FIFA on Wednesday ordered the replay of the World Cup qualifying match between South Africa and Senegal after referee Joseph Lamptey was investigated for manipulating the result.
The governing body of world football made this decision after "confirmation from the Arbitral Tribunal of Sport (TAS) to apply the punished in perpetuity of referee Joseph Lamptey for manipulation of party," said the body.
FIFA found Lamptey guilty of "illegally influencing the outcome of a match", so it will be played again in November. South Africa was the winner by 2 x 1.
