Joel Campbell and the SBC Mejenga

The Costa Rican striker of the Arsenal of England, currently on loan at Sporting CP of Portugal created LA MEJENGA. An event that seeks to rescue the traditional ball plays in the street of children in his native country Costa Rica.

The event begins next May 28 in the metropolitan park the savannah in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

The tournament will have the participation of 16 men's teams and 4 women's teams, each consisting of 5 players. They must wear a uniform that identifies them as a team and play matches lasting 20 minutes each, 10 minutes each time. It will be direct elimination until I reached the grand final and there defines the champion.

Participants must be at least 16 years of age.

In case of a tie, shoot from frame to frame without goalkeeper, win the best of 5 pitches.

Entries will open on Monday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. and will be closed on Sunday, April 30 at 11 a.m.
