Tottenham rose to second place in the Premier League after winning 1-0 at Watford in a more comfortable suggesting the match result. Pochettino's team used the jab before Manchester City against Leicester Square to steal those of Pellegrini and keep dreaming of a league title that resists them since the 1960-1961 season. Trippier, a great pass from Dele Alli, made the only goal of the game and 64 minutes after the Watford were sustained until then miraculously stops by Gomes and rigorous defensive order imposed by Quique Sanchez Flores. The Spanish coach changed his usual system with two strikers to input Mario Suarez in a 4-3-3. The tactic, however, only half worked. It was enough to withstand the arreones Spurs during the first 45 minutes but barely reported at the opponent's area. Tottenham dominated the media and was a constant threat on the wing, with Davies and Trippier serving as carrileros to stab again and again to the rival side. Quique corrected at the break input Behrami by Mario Suarez and output Deeney by Abdi to accompany Ighalo in the attack. Pochettino, however, better wardrobe, pulled the sleeve ace Dele Alli and promising England midfielder did the rest. He left the field after 61 minutes and only three minutes later found a gap in the unyielding defense of Watford Trippier gift for the only goal of the game and let three golden points at White Hart Lane. Spurs dream, like that of Leicester, is still alive.
