AD San Carlos, is the new Champion in Costa Rica Soccer League

In a match played, tactical and well played by both teams, the San Carlos Sports Association, was proclaimed champion of the Costa Rican soccer league by drawing 0 x 0 in this second game, played at the Carlos Ugalde Alvarez Stadium in Ciudad Quesada, this because in the first game of this final, he had tied 1 x 1 as a visitor at the Ricardo Saprissa stadium three days ago.

What a pride, a team of so-called smalls making history at 54 years of its foundation, a big hug, the board of directors, players, technical staff, and that fan of the so-called bulls of the north.

It's an incredible feeling, I'm writing and crying, because in that team that is now champion in Costa Rica, I played in several stages from the mosquitoes, children, youth, reserves, who is writing these lines and who today feels so happy, as well as players like Juan Pablo Chacón, Enrique Chacon, Ricardo Sauma, William Avila, Carlos Alvarado, Eduardo Quintanilla, Elmer Picado, Yobanny Alpizar, Deyver Vega, and many other great players of this team who are happy, happy and grateful with this generation of players that a year ago was going up to first division, Thanks guys, great San Carlos.

Saprissa vs. AD San Carlos, will dispute the final phase in Costa Rica

Yesterday the two return games, corresponding to the semifinals phase, were played in the Costa Rica Soccer League

Herediano who had won the first game of the series against San Carlos FC, with a score of 2 x 0, came away from the Carlos Ugalde Alvarez stadium yesterday with a 4 x 1 score, with which San Carlos will play the final against Deportivo Saprissa, that was also classified when defeating 2 x 1 Perez Zeledon team, after having tied 1 x 1 in the first game.

Note that if San Carlos wins this final phase to two games, it will be the champion of the Costa Rican Soccer League 2018/2019 edition, this being the winner also of the first phase, if the winner of the series is Saprissa, two more matches will come, San Carlos winner of the first phase and Saprissa winner of the second phase.


The first game will be this Sunday, May 12 at 4:00 p.m. local time at the Ricardo Saprissa stadium and the return game will be on Wednesday, May 15, at the Carlos Ugalde Alvarez stadium, in the SanMartin neighborhood of the Quesada city.

San Carlos vs Herediano - Saprissa vs Perez Zeledon / Semifinals in Costa Rica Soccer League

After playing in its entirety the last date, corresponding to the soccer league in Costa Rica, the teams of San Carlos, Saprissa, Perez Zeledon and Herediano, go to the semi-final stage and descends to the second division AD Carmelita.

San Carlos is the winner of the qualification phase, so if he wins this semifinals phase, he will be the champion of the professional soccer league, in his edition 2018-2019, if on the contrary he is eliminated, he already has the right to contest the final, with the eventual winner of the other three clubs.


San Carlos vs Herediano and Saprissa vs. Perez Zeledon the two semifinals, which start next Sunday, May 5th.

Positions, Scorers and possible descended in the Costa Rican Soccer League

This Sunday will be played the date number 22, in the professional Soccer League of Costa Rica. All games will be at 3:00 p.m.

In fact it is the last date corresponding to the qualifying phase where it will be known which teams advance to the final quadrangular and it will also be known who is the team that goes down to the second division, between Carmelita or the University of Costa Rica

The top of the table, has San Carlos in the first place, with 36 points, Perez Zeledon, second with 36 points, Saprissa, is third with 35 points and Herediano, is fourth in the table with 33 points in this summer tournament

But behind, but also with possibilities, Carthage, with 31 points and Greece FC, with also 31 points, these two depend on giving some combinations of results and they manage to win their respective games to have some option to that fourth place.

Further down in the compiled table, adding the two tournaments, winter and summer, where the least amount of points goes down to the second division, two teams will be disputed in this last date the permanence in the first division, the University of Costa Rica has 38 points and Carmelita 35 points.


As for individual scoring, player Keylor Soto of team  Perez Zeledon scored 11 goals, followed by Alvaro Saborio of San Carlos and Francisco Rodriguez of the University of Costa Rica, both with 10 goals.

In Costa Rica the football league is burning, only two dates to know what will be the four teams classified to the next phase and who will be the team that will unfortunately unfortunately lead to the second division, there is nothing written neither above, nor down.

In the top of the table, Perez Zeledon is the leader with 36 points, AD San Carlos, is second, with 33 points, Saprissa is third in the classification with 32 points, followed by Cartago and Herediano with 31 points respectively.

On Wednesday there will be a single match between the Alajuelense vs. Herediano teams, which is a replacement to match all the teams with 20 games and in which to draw, it would be almost like losing

Winning Herediano would reach 34 points and would be in the second position, if the winner is Alajuelense, would reach 30 points and would be a single point from the fourth place that is the Carthaginian team, just two dates to play, in the closing of the soccer league of Costa Rica.


At the bottom, the pulse is of two teams for not disengaging the second division, the team of the Universidad Costa Rica (UCR) marches two points above the AD Carmelita team that marches last, to only two remaining dates to finish the tournament.
