The Costa Rican international Celso Borges midfielder Deportivo La Coruna in Spain, will undergo surgery in the coming days of the fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his left foot he suffered last Friday with his national team and will be sidelined for three to four months.
"Already in Coruna. I feel very sad about missing the derby and the following games for Depor, but I must stay positive. My heartfelt thanks to all of you for the support," he wrote on the social networks.
Deportivo reported on its website that the club's medical services confirmed the diagnosis of the doctors of the Costa Rican Football Federation and announced that "the characteristics and the area where settles", require surgical treatment.
Borges landed Monday in Corunna from Costa Rica and was evaluated by the trauma of the club, Rafael Arriaza. The intervention will take place in the coming days, after the conventional preoperative studies are performed, explains the Coruña set.
Deportivo indicates that the period of low estimated footballers for this surgery is between three to four months.
So in the best case, Borges, Deportivo undisputed holder may not compete again until mid-February.
The first meeting that the Costa Rican international will miss is the morning when they face Costa Rica vs Panama in qualifying route to the World Russia 2018, second Galician derby against Celta Vigo on Saturday in Riazor Stadium.
